John 5:25-30
25“ Most positively, I say, an hour is coming and now is when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard will live. 26For even as the Father has Life in Himself, so He gave also to the Son to be having Life in Himself. 27And He gave also to Him authority to be making judgment, because He is Son of Humanity. 28Stop marveling at this, because an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice, 29and they will come forth: the ones having done the good into a Resurrection of Life, but the ones having practiced the wicked into a Resurrection of Judgment. 30I am not able to be doing anything of Myself. Just as I hear I judge, and My judgment is Righteous, because I do not seek My will but the Will of the Father having sent Me.
Good Day Child of God! "Father? Your Will Be Done!" To most of you that are steeped traditional church teaching, these verses mean something completely different from what is intended. You think that Jesus is speaking of physically dead people all through the verses. He is NOT.
Jesus is speaking of people that are physically dead in the second group, that is obvious by His recognition that their bodies were or are in tombs/graves. Yet all this leads to one thing. Either Life or Judgement. What is missing? Let's see what the Spirit has to tell us.
Today's easy lesson: It is so difficult to put in your head, after so many years of traditional teaching of obedience to the Commandments and more, confession of sins, following rites, rules and regulations of a particular brand of Christian Church, the meaning of our verses above. The reason I can say this is because I went through it myself. It took two years of constant study and rethinking what words meant and what was actually being said. We read and think we understand because our minds have been filled with tradition, and as we spend time trying to live the traditional Christian life, we struggle, yet believe we are doing right, except that it is not right. Not even close. What a shock, I know!
What is the message? What do the verses 25, 26, and 27 above say? They say, "A time is coming and now is when the dead will hear the Son of God." Who is Jesus speaking of? He cannot be speaking of physically dead people, because to make His point as solidly as He can He says that everyone that is dead will be Resurrected and Judged. Either they will have Life or be judgement. Do you believe judgement is forever punishment? We won't discuss that issue right now, but what we can know for certain is that Jesus is speaking of people that are physically alive at first, yet are dead to God. We know this by the confirmation of the dead bodies in the graves. If you have taken the step to accept of Life from Jesus' Finished work on the Cross and Trust Him for what not only was said, but was done, you have Life, and again, forever. If you reject Jesus, your reject the Father, and you are dead to Him even as you walk the earth. It is that simple. I have to ask the question again. It is simple, why do we make it complicated? God Loves you. Let me explain Love. God is committed to doing everything He can to get you to look at Him and recognize He has provided a way to Live forever, and all you have to do is Trust Him that that is Truth. Once you become His Child, He well never let go of you, He won't even take His eyes off of you, forsake you, not for a moment. That is the meaning of Agape' Love. The choice once again isn't obedience to get you to heaven or to acquire God's Grace, your choice is to ignore what His Will is which is to give you Life through the work of His Son, or you can walk around dead in your works, and dead after your body gives out. Which will it be? I am again imploring you to talk to your Abba, Daddy, Father now. He will confirm all that is being taught right here and right now. Have a Grace Day!
