John 6:1-7 "A Perfect Example Of The Christian Life."

John 6:1-7

1After these things Jesus departed to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. 2And a large crowd was following Him, because they were seeing His signs which He was doing upon the ones being sick. 3But Jesus went up into the mountain, and He was sitting there with His disciples.

4Now the Passover was near, the feast of the Jews. 5Then Jesus, having lifted up His eyes and having seen that a large crowd is coming to Him, says to Philip, “From where shall we buy loaves of bread, so that these shall eat?” 6( But this He said testing him, for He Himself knew what He was about to be doing.) 7Philip answered Him, “Two hundred days’ wages of loaves of bread are not sufficient for them that each of them shall receive some little."

Good Day Child of God! "Father? Your Will Be Done!" This is a difficult portion of Scripture. You are probably thinking, "What are you talking about, this is about an easy read we've had for a long time!" I couldn't agree more.

What makes me think it is so difficult? It sits in the middle of so many important teachings and seems to say very little. It is set up for what appears to be a miracle that people love to preach about, but in all honesty, there may be other, more practical explanations for what is about to happen. Let's see what the Spirit has to say.

Today's easy lesson: At first reading, second reading, then third reading, I had no idea what we were going to discuss. I closed my eyes and I pictured the scene, spoke to our Father about it, and simply asked Him what is it He wanted to point out from this group of verses? Usually I don't have to do that, in fact, this is the first time I can recall ever stopping to ask for the lesson and message. I just keep typing and the words fall onto the page, as it were. Now that I know it, it is a simple lesson. Jesus mentioned that the Passover was near, surely with 5,000 men, then add women and children you have quite a crowd. The Passover was coming so they families would likely stay together, and given the fact that they were following Jesus due to the healing He was doing, it makes sense that they were in this for the long haul. Jesus is no fool, He knew this, so He told the Apostles to prepare for dinner. However the food overflowed is not important, what is important is that Jesus did something before He told the Apostles to prepare. Do you recognize what it was?

What is the message? Have you ever been in a situation where you just simply don't know what to do and there sits a fairly large issue facing you that must be dealt with, and soon? Jesus just got done taking a group of learned Jews to the woodshed, spoke a long while, taught and healed for even more time, then traveled, and He had to be tired. Yet, there are thousands, if not tens of thousands of people looking to Him in great expectation for more of what they had experienced with Him along the way.  Jesus put His head down in His hands, spoke to His Father, and they talked about the situation. After a short while, Jesus lifted His eyes, and looked at the people. Then gave the orders. How do I know that is what happened? Jesus always said "I only do what I see My Father doing, and only say what He tells Me to say." It makes sense, it worked out without a hitch, which you will find in the next Study. To follow Jesus is to follow His every move, and sometimes they are hidden in the text as in this message. Please don't rush through the Bible, read small numbers of verses at a time, keep the Father in front of your Life every moment, and you too will understand your next move. Have a Grace Day!
